"Good riddance! I didn't like him anyway!"
"The barn burned, it was going to collapse anyway. Good riddance."
It's a common phrase, but what does it mean. Well, offhand I would guess it probably is a less then complementary. When an item or person leaves, vanishes or is destroyed and the above comment is made no one is terribly disappointed. In other words it was a pain to have around and in its (whatever it is) absence everyone is going to be enjoying the empty place it used to fill.
Tips to avoid this statement:
Don't be annoying.
Leave before everyone tires of you.
Don't worry if you receive this junk-mail comment, you don't have to be around those people anymore anyway.
Finally this blog is over.
